Sales Area: Worldwide

VW Beetle Cabriolet

The iconic German car, the VW Beetle, has offered an open-top Cabriolet model since as early as 1949. The bodywork was handled by Karmann, whose emblem proudly adorns the front quarter panel as a mark of craftsmanship. The thick, weather-resistant soft top not only provides durability but also adds visual charm when folded down in its distinctive rear-stacked form. From 1971, the Cabriolet was based on the 1302S model featuring MacPherson struts in the front suspension. In 1973, the panoramic-window-equipped 1303S became the new base. Although Beetle production ceased in Germany in 1978, the Cabriolet continued to be manufactured until 1980. In Japan, the official name was “Convertible,” and the model code 15ADK indicates a four-seater Cabriolet (15) equipped with a 1600cc AD-type engine (AD).
