Introduced in 1988, the Steed was equipped with a liquid-cooled, narrow-angle V-twin engine that produced a powerful, pulsating output, especially in the low and mid-rev range, in a low and long body. The double-cradle frame is combined with a new type of rear fork that resembles a fixed rear axle system and a relaxed, comfortable ride. In 1996, the Steed VSE was added with aluminum dish wheels, a sprung rear fender, special seat and side covers, and new-type wide handlebars to emphasize its wild image.
